Arsenal reveal Jurrien Timber to undergo surgery on ACL injury

Arsenal have confirmed that Jurrien Timber sustained an injury to his anterior cruciate li Game nt during Saturday's 2-1 win over Nottingham Forest and will need to undergo surgery . The defender, who only joined the Gunners this summer from Ajax, made his first Premier League start, but had to be withdrawn just after half-time. Timber limped into the half-time break after coming off worse from a foul on Brennan Johnson. He was cleared to play the second 45 but was hauled off around the 50-minute mark after going down again with no one around him. Arsenal have now released a statement on Timber's injury, which threatens to end his entire first season in north London. It's a rather minor miracle that Chelsea are pretty much safe from relegation this season. The Blues have stumbled from one disaster to another throughout a pathetic season. Caretaker manager Frank Lampard has lost all six of his games in charge now. Their latest defeat came at London rivals Arsenal on Tuesday.
